Payment statuses

Payments

Understand where your payment is and what happens next

Once a payment is created, it is assigned a status that shows where it is in the processing flow.

You can check the status of your payments at any time directly from the SwissFx platform.

Each status reflects a specific step in the payment lifecycle. Most payments move through these steps automatically. If action is needed from your side, this will be clearly indicated.

Payment statuses explained

Below is an overview of the most common payment statuses and what they mean.

Term

Definition

Pending authorisation

The payment has been created but still needs approval. This applies when your account uses a multi-level authorisation setup.

Authorised

The payment has been approved and is ready to move to the next step.

Waiting for funds

There are not yet enough funds available in the relevant currency, or the payment date has not been reached.

Validating

The payment is being checked before execution. This is part of standard operational and regulatory controls.

Waiting for execution date

The payment is fully funded but scheduled for a future date.

Payment on hold

The payment cannot proceed yet. This may be due to missing beneficiary details or because the payment was intentionally paused.

Completed

The payment has been successfully executed.

Cancelled

The payment was cancelled before being executed.

Returned

The payment was sent but returned to your account. This can happen, for example, if beneficiary details were incorrect or the recipient rejected the payment.
